Pain control is a focus of care at our animal hospital. In most cases, animals do not need to be in pain. We can help manage the level of pain and discomfort that your pet may have. This is particularly important as an animal gets older. As a regular part of any appointment or procedure, we will give advice on how pain can be controlled or managed through:

- laser therapy,
- acupuncture referral,
- prescription products
At Riverside South Animal Hospital we ensure that animals are given pain medication prior to, during and after surgery. If an animal wake ups from surgery and is not experiencing pain, it is much easier to manage the animal and any potential future pain.
If your pet is stiff or limping, showing behaviour changes, licking its joints or sleeping a lot – pain may be the cause.
